Eco-friendly Dishwashing Detergents May 12, 2009

Here are some automatic dishwashing detergents that clean without the use of bleach and phosphates:

• Seventh Generation - retails for about $5.99 for a 45 oz box.
• Mrs. Meyers - around $7.99 for a 48 oz bottle.
• Method - about $6.50 for a bag of 20 detergent tabs (cleans 20 loads of dishes).

Homemade & Natural Produce Wash April 8, 2009

For a Natural Produce Wash, combine:

• 3 cups filtered water
• 3 Tbsp white distilled vinegar or apple cider vinegar
• 2 Tbsp baking soda
• a few drops of lemon juice

Mix ingredients in a spray bottle.  Mist fruits/vegetables and rinse with cold water to get your produce naturally free of dirt and/or pesticides!

 

**Not recommended for mushrooms because they might absorb the flavor.

Natural Glass & Window Cleaner Recipe October 17, 2008

In an empty spray bottle:

 

1 part water

1 part white vinegar

1 part alcohol

 

SO SIMPLE!

 

(It will smell like vinegar, but the smell will dissipate relatively quickly)
